Is it everyone’s favourite Great Uncle Billy?  No.  Although I note he’s not been so busy with the gayz of late, what with all these muslims to worry about.  He’s been telling us for years!

It must be the ACL then, Lyle has finally got the right combination of prayer and money to force his will onto the rest of us?  Nope.

It’s the jews!

Well some of them.  The ultra-orthodox ones that have sparked me fur to stand on end like a million hard soldiers.

Two good stories that show just how stupid religion is becoming!

The first one about the silly men who refuse to sit next to women on aeroplanes, well anywhere at all really.  But in this case, on aeroplanes.

When a bunch of ultra-orthodox men climb onto a plane they begin to harass women to move so that they don’t have to sit next to them.  Their religion doesn’t allow them too.  Strangely it does allow them to climb onto the plane and be flung through the air at great speed, but not to sit next to a woman.

Why?  I hear you ask.  I’m glad you did.  It seems that for some extraordinary reason any time an ultra-orthodox man so much as glances at a women he is tempted to have sex with her and if that wasn’t bad enough, the ultra-orthodox have no way of knowing if the woman is having her period.  So they think they can’t sit next to them least they might touch and he will need to have sex, or she might be unclean because she’s menstruating.

If it was my airline that was being held up because a bunch of passengers won’t sit in their allocated seats, I’d kick them off straight away.  You give it a try, get on a plane and refuse to take your seat so the plane can depart.  How long before you are ejected from the flight?  However, if you do it while wearing a possum felt hat, some frilly lace stuff, maybe some white stockings and a black coat you can get away with it.

Next up is the mobile phone app that will allow you to text on the sabbath.  Thank fucking god for that one!  I mean how silly of god not to know back at the dawn of time that one day all good little jewish boys would have a smart phone and want to send a text message on a Saturday arvo when the footy is on!  A complete lack of foresight by the almighty.  The dickhead.

Thankfully Man to the rescue!  Some nutter has devised an app that allows you to use the phone on the sabbath so that you’re not breaking the rule about working or some crap.  The app keeps the screen lit at all times, keeps the battery consumption at an even level and delays the time between pressing the keyboard and the letter being displayed.

God is so fucking stupid that he can be fooled into thinking the phone isn’t being used because the battery isn’t being drained, the screen doesn’t suddenly become bright and the keys aren’t making a noise when being pushed.

It’s better to have the app for the kiddies, because the thinking goes that if they are breaking one rule on the sabbath then they will think nothing of breaking other rules.

Before  you know it the boys will be touching girls and getting tempted to sin.  Worse yet, they might even sit next to one of them on an aeroplane and take a photo.

Well back to my little holiday.  You’ll find me booking 4 seats so I don’t have to sit next to any ultra-orthodox types with mobile phones.

The government in the Australian Capital Territory is about to pass legislation making it legal for same-sex couples to get married in the ACT.  It’s an interesting step for an Australian state to make, although the Federal Government may attempt to override the new laws through the courts.

Enter the ACL, those wacky christians issued a media release called “Statement by Abrahamic Faith Leaders of Canberra” – that’s a nice way of saying the Jews, Christians and the Muslims.

Below is a copy of a statement of faith by seven faith leaders here in Canberra that was released today ahead of the ACT Marriage Equality Bill that is expected to be debated tomorrow. Whilst not organised by the ACL, the ACL welcomes the statement by the group.

Goodness me, so the ACL wasn’t needed!  Shunned by their own faithful!

Seventy percent of Australians identify with an Abrahamic religion – Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

Yes, 70% may identify, but that doesn’t mean that they all agree on everything.

As leaders of several of these faith traditions, we have gathered to share our concerns about the ACT Government’s proposed same sex marriage legislation.

These leaders do no represent the 70% by a long shot, trying to argue from authority that they simply don’t have.

We are concerned for the long-term risks of such a Bill for our society.

You are?  What are they?  Tell us what those long-term risks are?  I bet you can’t.

While affirming the inherent dignity of all human beings,

Except if you’re anything other than heterosexual.  You’d sooner sack anyone that isn’t just like you.  You’d sooner say that the love I have for my love llama is somehow second rate.  Some of you that have signed this media release think that gays should be stoned to death.  So much for dignity.

our faith traditions also affirm the traditional concept of marriage between a man and a woman as being for the good of the individual, the family and society.

Yes, I agree.  Marriage between a man and a woman is good for the individual, the family and society.  So is marriage between two people of the same sex.  Everyone should be able to get married. In your particular faith feel free to celebrate marriage in the way you want, and those that don’t believe as you can get married and celebrate in the way they like.

We invite the wider community to join with us in calling for the Bill to be subject to community consultation through the normal Legislative Assembly Committee process.

Oh yes, that’s it, it’s not enough that you think you represent 70%  of the population you now want the other 30% to join in and see the world your way.  Great way to show dignity to each human being.  And while you’re at it why don’t you call into question the legitimacy of the passage of the bill in the duly elected parliament of the ACT.  Find a way to delay it so you can start spreading more of your vile innuendo.

It seems that a bunch of Muslims have decided to build a new mosque right next door to a planned church!  I’m all for it, houses of religion should all be put in the same area.  Throw a synagogue in there too!  Oh and look, it’s our old friend Pasta Danny Nalliah from Catch the Fire Ministries and head honcho of the extreme right Rise Up Australia Party, where their catch-cry is Keep Australia Australian.

“We don’t approve of Islam as a religion but we love Muslim people. Islam teaches that those who follow other religions are infidels.  “It is a religion that doesn’t value freedom of religion. Having those same teachings right under our noses is counter-productive to our church.”

Luckily in Australia we don’t need Pasta Danny’s approval on the establishment of religion.  How stupid is it to point out that muslims consider other faiths to be wrong right after you’ve just said you don’t approve of Islam as a religion.  How bizarre though that he should go on to say that Islam doesn’t value freedom of religion… sound remarkably like the wet Pasta is having a bit of trouble valuing freedom of religion too.

He said that homes vacated by “fed-up” neighbours would be bought up by Muslims, creating a “sharia [the moral code and religious law of Islam] zone”.

So?  You do know that in Australia we have this other thing, it’s called the law.  If you break it expect to be charged and prosecuted.  People buy houses in all sorts of places for all sorts of reason, and yes sometimes because the house is close to their synagogue or church or mosque.

Here’s another in the long ongoing saga of Pasta Noodle-head thinking he can get some free press by whingeing about the muslims.  He really can’t stand atheists, gays or muslims.

Australia is a multi-cultural society, most of us get along just fine and we don’t need to worry about what religion our neighbour is.  Pasta Danny is out to cause extra conflict and to create a storm where none needs to exist.

I agree with him that the mosque shouldn’t be build, but then I don’t think he should build a $2 million church either, why not spend the money on something sensible, you know, like some housing stock for the poor?

Places of religion are a waste of money.  Seriously.

Having just published a blog on The Booba and her ramblings on circumcision, I find she’s published another blog on the whole issue!

A look over the blog gives us a few gems.

So for those charmers who demand to know my medical opinion on non-medically necessary circumcision? I’m against it. Yes, I agree that infants, young children or anyone in fact, should not have a circumcision unless there is a medical problem such as phimosis, or unless they live in Sub-Saharan Africa, where male circumcision has been shown in several controlled studies to lower the rate of HIV transmission significantly.

She’s against it.  So, why is she for it?

I am a Jew and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

There’s no responsibility in being a jew.  You either choose to be or you don’t.

I am a Jew because my mother was a Jew, and her mother was a Jew, and her mother was a Jew, and her mother was a Jew. Beyond that, I confess, I’m guessing.

No, you’re a jew because you want to be. You can stop being a jew at any time, you could be a muslim, a catholic or even an pagan.  It has nothing to do with your parents.

Up Yours Booba!

I have three beautiful sons (my daughters are beautiful too, for any who are reading this) and well do I remember the clutching of my heart and the lump in my throat and the strong desire to snatch my newborn away from the Kvatter and run. My precious, pink, soft and infinitely vulnerable little bundle with 10 tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes and a tiny little penis with a teeny-tiny little foreskin. And a Jewish mother; me. And 3,000 years of history. And an Eternal Covenant between G-d and the Jews. And the decision was made. The choice was made thousands of years ago, when HaShem chose the Jews to perfect the world and create a ‘Dirat beTachtonim’, a dwelling place for G-d on Earth.

I don’t know the mind of G-d. I don’t understand the Holocaust, or the Spanish Inquisition and Expulsion, or all the atrocities perpetrated on Jews for being Jews.  All I know, as a human, as a mother, as a doctor, is that there are things which go beyond the rational, beyond the intellect. So much in Judaism doesn’t make sense, even though after the fact it might.

I don’t keep kosher because it’s a healthy way to eat;

I don’t avoid shellfish because they might be contaminated with E coli;

likewise, I don’t keep Shabbat because studies have shown that it’s a good way for families to connect.

I didn’t keep the laws of Taharat HaMishpacha because of a lesser risk of cervical cancer or because the separation made for fun reunions.

These things may or may not be true, but they all depend on an intellectual appreciation of these practices.

No. I observe them because I am a Jew and they are an intrinsic part of G-d’s commandments. I may not be a perfect Jew and my observances may not be perfect at all times, but I am a Jew, and there are great responsibilities that come with it. One of those is to ensure that my sons have Brit Milah, preferably on the 8^th day of life, whether I agree with it or not as a doctor or a mother.

And if that makes me an ignorant, superstitious savage, well, that’s some peoples’ interpretation.

I will never be able to convince them otherwise, because the thing about Faith is that you need faith to have it. If you don’t believe, then you don’t believe, and there is nothing that I can say or do to make a non-believer have faith in G-d and His goodness. It cannot be argued logically, not by the likes of me, anyway.

So, for all those anti-circumcision crusaders, feel free to worship your foreskins and the physical perfection of yourselves and your sons. But leave Brit Milah alone, because it is about a lot more than a piece of skin.

Doctor Booba,  a jewish female doctor has taken the time to comment about male circumcision.  You can already see where this is going to go.

Last month a German  Court ruled that circumcision of an infant is wrong and those doing it should be punished.  This was after an 4 year old muslim lad had complications.

Well, the jews and the muslims think that circumcision is a good idea, both religions insist on it for religious reason, so you can imagine the outrage from the religious nutters!

It’s worth remembering that boys have died from complications with circumcision.  Remember the lad in New York who had his penis slurped on as part of the ceremony, only to contract herpes from a dirty mouth and die.  That alone is sufficient reason to get religion out of circumcision.

You’ll only feel a small prick

And religion is what it’s all about.  The deity that called itself The Almighty insisted the Abram lop his foreskin off. So, The Almighty Ego promised that he would give land to the now named Abraham.  He promised to make Abraham the father of nations, and that his seed would enjoy the same privilege, oh, and The Almighty Ego promised to be his god.  How kind.

Abraham is told by The Almighty that he will have to keep this agreement, there’s no negotiation and as a token he has to take his foreskin off.  For every newborn baby boy, on the 8th day the foreskin will have to be cut off.

Abraham is clearly so excited by all of this that the 90 year old then cuts his own dick and goes on to do that same to all the men within his household.  How crazed do you have to be?  Suddenly your father and master is cutting your foreskin off.

Back to the Booba.  Let’s look at what she’s written in her blog:

No it doesn’t, it effects 8 day old boys only. They’re the ones that don’t get a say in the process.

Therefore I personally think that this ruling will not hold up because the Muslims will protest and nobody wants a Muslim protest!  Imagine all the burning Mercedes-Benzes and Audis and the loss of Ordnung in the street. Unconscionable.

What a load of rubbish!  Is The Booba is actually suggesting that there will be riots in the streets and that this will force the decision to be overturned?

So I would think that, ironically, it will probably be the Muslims who will save the day so the Jews will be able to continue a 3,000-year-old practice which is so dangerous, that Jews are still around. So traumatizing to the helpless infant that Jews still win more Nobel Prizes than anyone else.

Umm… ok.  So, because the traumatised boy doesn’t recall the cutting off of his foreskin it’s ok to continue?  I’d suggest that if the age of circumcision was moved to 18 and the young man was given a choice, he’d say no.  Why?  Because the idea of cutting anything off your body is a disturbing thought.  Our tackle is carefully guarded because to injure it is a truly frightening prospect.  The religious nutters have to resort to doing it at 8 days after birth, because they know full well that a grown up man would not think it was a good idea at all.  Interestingly enough, people win Nobel Prizes regardless of the state of their penis.  It’s also interesting to note that most jewish children don’t go on to win Nobel Prizes.  Or Logie awards for that matter.

Yes, it is so dangerous that, in Africa, adult males are clamoring to be circumcised as it has been shown to be effective against the transmission of HIV.

 Well no.  I don’t think that any uncircumcised male would be clamoring to have his foreskin cut off.  You didn’t think that through very well.  Jews love to use this as proof that they’re right.  To them the fact that a small study in Africa vindicates their desire to circumcise little boys.

Yes, yes, I know what the issues are here; it’s about harming a child who has no ability to consent to a non-medically necessary procedure. Even if his parents request the procedure, even if the operator is a doctor. The issue is also about the transcendence of the Body over the Soul. Now, where have I heard that before? Oh yes, the Ancient Greeks. And the Romans.  And the Soviets. And where are they today?

Here The Booba seems to be suggesting that the Greeks, Romans and Soviets have disappeared because they put the body over that of the soul.  Which seems rather a ridiculous position.  The Greeks and the Romans eventually turned into christian religions who have spread their virus all around the world, and as far as I know the Soviets still have their nuclear weapons pointed our way.

I know that this topic tends to generate more heat than light when it is argued. There are comparisons made to female genital mutilation, which is already illegal in Germany and other countries, as if the two procedures could be remotely compared in outcomes and effects on the child’s future. As if there is a skerrick of evidence that FGM had any positive outcomes either! Not a one, only damage to girls for no reason except ‘to protect their honour’, whatever that is construed to mean. Whereas male circumcision sometimes needs to be done for medical reasons –which IS allowed under this German ruling – and can protect against HIV, for example, female genital mutilation has only negative effects on girls and women, no matter how small the cut or what is or isn’t excised or stitched up. So making both male circumcision and FGM illegal serves to lump them together in a most unfair and disingenuous way.

 Right now I’m shaking my head.  The similarities are justified, whether or male or female, having your genitals mutilated for any reason is wrong.  There is no doubt that sometimes the foreskin needs to be removed for medical reasons.  The claim that it protects against HIV is simply wrong and to suggest that it be done just in case is akin to suggesting that big toes be removed because the toe nail may become ingrown.  A woman is quick to deny the mutilation of her own bits while defending the right to mutilate the bits of males.  How rude.

The Brit Milah is an eternal covenant between G-d and the Jews. Now, G-d could have thought of other ways to make a covenant, I guess. If it has to be seared into the flesh, why not a piercing or a tattoo? I’m no Talmid Chochom or mystic, and I sure don’t know the mind of G-d, but it seems to me that the foreskin is accessible and expendable.

Expendable? How would you know?  The foreskin is a protective layer of skin.  It protects the man’s penis.  You a woman think it’s expendable?  The concept of circumcision was a token to a covenant that The Almighty Ego appears to have broken. Why do jews continue to pretend otherwise?

, but more, the penis represents the propagation of the Jewish people as well as the source of pleasure for Man. With great privilege comes great responsibility! How amazing is that, that the source of these two vital – literally, ‘vital’ pertaining to ‘vitum’, life force – functions has this little removable turtleneck!

No, the foreskin is not removable, any more than your ears are.  It’s not like there’s a little zip.  To remove the foreskin you have to cut with a very sharp knife.  There’s blood and much crying.

So what about doing this procedure on a child who is unable to give legal consent? Whose parents, despite the fact that they take the baby for immunizations without consent, and force the child to go to school, and make a child eat broccoli, certainly without consent, and are thus in charge of the child’s welfare, both spiritual and physical- suddenly have no legal or moral authority to have their son circumcised.

Last time I checked immunizations are done for the welfare of the child and the community at large.  Not so with circumcision.  As far as I know parents feed their children broccoli because it’s good for them and helps them grow, not so with circumcision.  Education is vital and important to live in our modern society, not so with circumcision.  Neither education, immunisation or food require the removal of a sensitive piece of skin.

Suddenly, despite a 3,000 year tradition which has such enormous power and meaning, and no doubt has contributed to the continued existence of the Jews, is illegal. Suddenly The Rights Of The Child To Have An Intact And Perfect Body And Not Have Anything Done With Which He Cannot Consent, is sacrosanct. As a result of a ruling in a German court. I find this a little ironic on several levels.

There is no enormous power derived from cutting the foreskin.  Whether or not it contributes to the ongoing existence of the jewish culture is debatable.  There are of course a whole range of traditions that have gone by the wayside of the last 3,000 years.

It was the Jews, after all, who, under G-d’s command, abhorred Avodah Zara, idol worship, including the worship of Moloch, which involved mothers sacrificing their children by throwing them into the idol’s fiery maw and burning them alive. It was the Jews who came up with the whole idea of ‘Choosing Life’, and ‘He who saves a single life, it is as if he has saved the whole world’ and that ‘Man is a microcosm’ and ‘Man is created in the image of G-d.’ It sure wasn’t the Enlightened Germans who ran with that ball. But I digress.

Really?  So you think that because a little bit of skin is cut off the jews have some sort of special place in the world?  Are you suggesting that non jewish mothers think it’s ok to throw their children into the fire to be burned alive?  This coming from a faith that messed with Abraham by having The Almighty Ego attempt to get him to sacrifice his own son and burn him as an offering.  The same god that killed all the first born in Egypt based only on the splash of blood on the door posts.  So much for choosing and saving life.

Brit Milah may seem like a minor procedure performed on a minor, but it’s of major importance. And the Jews will find a way to continue the eternal covenant. We always have.

 Circumcision is a minor procedure that has a major impact on boys.  The fact that grown up jews find a way to keep this going is a demonstration of the arrogance of religion.  And lets face it, the requirement to circumcise is based on one man, that we have no evidence every existed, that thought that The Almighty Ego was going to give him land and make nations out of his descendants.  In his zeal he not only took a knife and cut his own foreskin off,  a questionable feat, he did the same to his 13 year old son and then to all of the other men in his household.

Just so we know who we’re talking about here, the AFA is a right-wing group who think that marriage can only be between a man and a woman.  It has the likes of Margaret Court as patron, and other ratbags including Shimon Cowen¹

Shimon Cowen is chairing the meeting.  Cowen earlier this year was widely criticised for his ‘paper‘ on homosexuality and bullying.  His paper included this:

 From a religious standpoint, if a person felt an overwhelming homosexual impulse of the deepest nature, that would be viewed with compassion but it would not constitute permission to indulge homosexual activity in practice. It is an abnormality, which as far as possible should be treated.

Miriam Gross is an American child and adolescent psychiatrist.  She’s an ultra-orthodox Jew which no doubt has a huge impact on her profession and her ideology.  No doubt she’s an expert in her field.  She does seem to be very keen on telling young people not to have sex.  One of the things she says is that she treats lots of people for problems with having sex early in their lives. I’m not at all surprised that someone who offers counselling for adolescent children will see children with a wide range of problems, including sexual matters.

Miriam is going to give a public lecture, and just to make sure we’re paying attention she’s giving the talk in a state secondary school, Glen Eira College.  That’s done as a way of adding some sort of credibility to the talk.  The school community will know it’s on and they have plenty of victims to pick from.  One of the major concerns you have as a parent is sex and what your kids are doing.  It’s really easy for someone like the AFA to play on those concerns and make it look like they care.

The title of the talk is Sex Education Protecting our Children’s Well-being (that’s the title in the press ads). That says all the right things!  What parent doesn’t want to protect their child’s well-being?

Grossman’s attitude towards sex education is very traditional and conservative.  Her attitude no doubt is that children should never be told anything about sex, because they might go out and try it.

The AFA website says this:

She will provide you with critical health information and facts about sex that you can share with your teenagers. It is sound medical advice you will not have heard elsewhere.

Grossman also champions an online petition that says

We declare that sex education programs should encourage the ideal of delaying sexual activity until marriage as the only sure way to avoid sexually transmitted diseases, out-of-wedlock pregnancies, abortions, and a myriad of the other well-documented negative health consequences associated with premarital sex.

A clear indication that she thinks sex should not happen outside traditional marriage, ignoring the fact that very few people actually wait until they are married to have sex.  Her approach is one of fear tactics and guilt.

Grossman also thinks homosexuality is wrong.  Earlier this year she put her name to a letter in support for Lesley Pilkington, a psychotherapist involved in among other things, unwanted homosexuality and therapy.  In the letter that she supports is this paragraph:

Psychological care for those who are distressed by unwanted homosexual attractions has been shown to yield a range of beneficial client outcomes, especially in motivated clients. This is supported by recent empirical evidence from Byrd, Nicolosi, Shaeffer, Spitzer, Jones and Yarhouse. Such therapy does not produce harm despite the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) and others maintaining the contrary. In this area, the RCPsych seems to be guided by the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Mental Health Special Interest Group, and could therefore be partial to one view

I’ve already blogged onthe work of Spitzer, and he has since recanted his research.

One of Grossman’s books is called “You’re Teaching My Child What?”. That’s a really good question, and one that should be asked of Grossman.

Her idea of sex education is abstinence. No sex outside marriage.  Her idea is that children should not be told about homosexuality, transsexuality or bisexuality.  Children should not be encouraged to explore their bodies and understand how they work.  Her talks are about instilling fear into children, that the best way to avoid any sexually transmitted disease is by not having sex with anyone but your married partner.

Her attitude is most definitely driven by religious dogma by both the christian and jewish traditions.

It has no place in modern Australia.

The school should deny her access to their premises and anyone promoting this talk should be told more precisely just what it’s about.

This morning on Sunrise on Channel 7 there was a debate between Kerryn Phelps and Wally (Jim Wallace of the ACL).

Wally said this:

I would like to just say that I think this whole campaign would do great credit to Joseph Goebbels, because what we’ve had, we’ve had the demonisation

I choked on my breakfast as he trotted those words out.

In July 2011 Wallace said this:

“The use of this language of demonisation of anyone who speaks or acts in support of marriage must stop”, said ACL MD Jim Wallace. “It is a tactic that deserves to be roundly condemned from the highest levels, carrying as it does severe consequences for free speech and expression in our society.”¹

What a horrible thing to say.  Kerryn Phelps who admits to being married in a jewish ceremony, no doubt knows of jewish people that are victimised by the likes of Goebbels.

Wally needs to be roundly condemned for his language.

In an effort to say just how much christians are demonised Wallace commits the unforgivable error of comparing gay people with the Nazi’s.    He demonises every gay person by comparing them to Goebbels. Hitlers right hand man.

How offensive of him.  While they are making claims of their rights being trampled on, him and his ilk will stoop to name calling to make their point.  They enjoy making Nazi references.

Wally needs to resign right now, he needs to apologise and fuck off.

Cardinal Hell, his grace the most graceful of grace sort of said on the telly last week that he thought the jews were intellectually inferior to the advanced civilisations around them.  That’s why  god chose them as his special friends, with benefits, so he could fuck them over and they wouldn’t know.  He didn’t want to give his divine word to the Egyptians, cos they might ask too many questions.

he also suggested that ”no people in history were [as severely] punished as the Germans were”, apparently ignoring the Holocaust, for which the Germans were punished.

Oh yeah, coz dropping two nukes on Japan was of course a doddle for the Japanese. But that’s ok.  They’re not christian.

Hell is more bent on paying homage to his boss, who happens to be German, than he is in carrying any sense of social justice to the jewish people, non-christians and atheists.

As if it isn’t bad enough that people in the world still think that circumcision is a pretty good idea, some in the jewish tradition go that one step further and have the rabbit performing the ritual suck the blood from the baby’s penis.

Think about that.

There’s all sorts of things wrong with sucking the penis of a new born baby.  You try doing it outside of the religious context and see how quickly you end up on a sex offenders register.

To make matters worse, back in September a baby died from herpes, passed on to him by an unknown rabbi who performed the circumcision and sucked the excess blood from the little boys penis.

A baby is dead because a grown man cut the baby’s foreskin off and sucked the blood away.

And the parents watch and let this happen.

Repulsive beyond belief.

There seems to have been a cover up as the news has only recently surfaced.

Why is it when religion is involved there’s an attempt at a cover up?  What sort of influence needs to be exerted to keep the death of a baby quiet?

Why hasn’t the offending rabbi been locked up?  Why hasn’t he been apprehended and charged with murder, at the very least man slaughter.

There’s only one way to stop this unnecessary ritual, that is to ban it.  Time to stop rabbis from performing circumcisions.  I don’t care how many they’ve done.  It’s just plain wrong.  I understand the importance that jews place on circumcision, but it’s time to get it out of the hands of dirty old men and into a clean clinical setting.  (I think it’d be better to not circumcise anyone at all)

Anyone who breaks the law should get jail time.

People like Billy Muehlenberg believe this:

Every single one of us either worships the one, true, living God, or we worship something else.

Get that, you have to worship something, if not Latiaran, then something else.  It’s inconceivable that you don’t worship something. Up until a few minutes ago, I had no idea that I had to worship something.

Although, Bill’s version of god is pretty good, you see a man lost his wife’s ring in rubbish, so he went to tip and had to dig through rotting piles of smelly refuse.  It was so bad that he threw up:

Brian McGuinn stopped and said a prayer. As he opened his eyes, he spotted a familiar shower cap and conditioner bottle.

Well look at that, all his scratching in the rubbish he at last found something from his place, but no luck with the ring, so off he went looking some more and will you look at that, he’s prayer paid off!

But when he pulled his sludge-covered hand from the pile, McGuinn let out a Tarzan-like yell.

Well praise that god!

I, of course, don’t believe a word of that mumbo jumbo, clearly it is Latiaran who saved the day.

There’s lots of problems with this supernatural thing, while god is helping Brian find a ring that he carelessly dropped in the rubbish, he wasn’t protecting the 31 year old church leader and Sunday school teacher. Beshoy Bishai was collected by a 4WD and died.  That’s the problem with the christian god, he’s too busy helping people find rings in the rubbish.

All religions are made up.  Just look at this whole notion of the parallels between the Egyptian god, Horus and Jesus.  Nobody wants the other side to be right, so we have this rather confusing view that looks like the Jesus story is based on an earlier religion.

The jews believe that the tower of Babel was about to reach their god in heaven, so god destroyed it and make them all speak a different language so they couldn’t get reach him.

Christians (and Horus followers) believe that god sacrificed himself (jesus) to himself (god), and rose three days later (jesus) and then he (holy spirit) taught people to talk in foreign languages.

The muslims believe that a stone fell from heaven, and now they have to face it five times a day and pray. The stone was intended to show Adam and Eve where to build an altar.   When they visit the stone, they kiss it, or if they can’t kiss it, they point to it as the walk around the stone seven times.

The Norse thought that Odin was their chief god, it is said that Odin appeared riding on Sleipnir in a battle against the Danes in 1208. He positioned himself in front of the Swedish battle formation. He led the Swedish charge and gave them victory.

The jews and christians think that their god flooded the world and killed everyone but those on a great big boat with two of every kind of animal on it.  Mind you,  the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, Chinese and Native American’s all thought the same thing about a great flood.

In 1830, Joseph Smith got a message from god and founded the church of jesus christ of latter day saint.  He claimed that jesus had visited the American continent while he was suppose be dead.

L Ron Hubbard started Scientology in 1952.  Claiming that a bunch of souls had been dropped into volcanoes and we are now infected with those spirits.

The guys at the Christian Democrat Party at their AGM said this:

We have the truth but must speak it in love.

BIlly says this:

The war against truth has been going on for some time now.

The scientologist say this:

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom for all.

In 2000 the then head of the catholic church, John Paul II said this:

affirms the Catholic Church’s teaching that it is the “one, true Church of Jesus Christ.

They can’t all be right, can they?  How many versions of the truth are there?

If you want to know why I don’t believe in anything supernatural.  There it is.  There isn’t a single shred of truth in any of the ramblings of religious people.   It’s a delusions that we’ve evolved with.  If you can discount any one of the versions of the truth, how can you be so certain that you have the real version?   Millions of people believe in scientology, christianity, judaism, islam and plenty of other gods who have faded into the background of human history.

There, to be perfectly blunt, is no god, goddess or gods.

I understand that I don’t know everything, I understand that you can believe whatever you like.  I know I can’t prove that there is no god, and I even admit the possibility that I may be wrong.   There may be a god, but I don’t believe that.

When you can prove to me that Latiaran doesn’t exist, then we can use the same process to show you that your god doesn’t exist.
