Jim ‘Wally’ Wallace over at the Australian Cunts Lobby is salivating because the Australia’s Atheist Prime Minister has given him a personal assurance that religions will be able to continue to discriminate on the basis of sexuality or other sexual activities.

Well brush my woolly nuts with steel wool.

It's consensual. Don't panic

It’s consensual. Don’t panic

So the churches can sack a woman because she’s having sex before marriage.  They gay sack a gardener because he’s gay, they can sack an admin worker because she’s transgender.  In the eyes of a church if you sin, you’re out.

What is this?  19 fucking 50?

Fuck a duck.

What a gutless, pathetic, government we have that can’t distinguish between a basic human right and the needs of old men to keep up the perception of morality.

These matters are no longer ‘sinful’ or immoral in the great scheme of our world.  It’s not like stealing or murder.  Nobody is being hurt by these actions.

The churches have their collective heads buried up the arse of their crazy god and real people suffer.

The government should have the courage to enact anti-discrimination laws that actually do what the title suggests.  Prevents discrimination.

The ACL and Christians Endorse Discrimination http://www.brucellama.com/2012/12/15/the-acl-and-christians-endorse-discrimination/ Sat, 15 Dec 2012 02:18:32 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=3129 I wrote just the other day about Billy and how upset he is with the Government for trying to make Australia a better place by removing discrimination.

Billy used these words:

Of real concern are the addition of two new categories, sexual orientation and gender identity

Oh no, it’s a real concern!  That sounds drastic, but wait, along comes that other bastion of hatred towards teh gays, the Australian Christian Lobby, and look at their words:

Drastically expands the number of attributes that will be protected to include things like gender identity and sexual orientation;

Isn’t it funny.  Two new categories is just, well two.  The ACL can’t help themselves but call those two things a drastic expansion.  It sounds like there’s hundreds and hundreds of attributes being added.  I can see the veins in Jimbo’s head throbbing.

Then there’s me old mate Spinksy, he’s got a few of his own words that express his outrage

Of course this will be used by pro-homosexual groups who (among others) will use this as a new way to target Christian groups and individuals who they claim to be “offended” by.

Certainly this proposed legislation cannot operate in such a way that would allow me to seek to charge anyone with a grievance against me yet it demonstrates a lopsidedness to this potential addition to discrimination law.

Goodness, who would have thought that the gays would use laws to target those that seek to vilify, discriminate and harass them.

Then there’s that pretend political party the Australian Christians:

Among other problems, the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Bill 2012 would greatly increase the number of attributes (eg gender identity) on which discrimination is forbidden;

gaysHow funny, the notion that legislation to make it illegal to discriminate against sexual orientation and gender identity sends them into a tiz.  The fundamentalists just don’t like the idea that their outrageous and dangerous ideas might be made illegal.

Their outrage is along the lines of “How dare the government try to tell us that we can’t call gays nasty names and keep them out of jobs and nursing homes.  How dare they!  Don’t they know that they’re poofters!  Poofters are evil – we need to protect the world against poofters!  If we don’t the poofters will turn us all into poofters!”

Smoking the Gay Dream – Wallace Knows the Facts http://www.brucellama.com/2012/09/06/smoking-the-gay-dream-wallace-knows-the-facts/ Wed, 05 Sep 2012 23:31:40 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=3071 [SOURCE]

Jim Wallace, head of the Australian Christian Lobby is yet again showing just how out of touch with reality he is.

Wally, that fine example of everything that’s fucked about christianity has opened his mouth again.  He made this grand statement during a debate:

I think we’re going to owe smokers a big apology when the homosexual community’s own statistics for its health – which it presents when it wants more money for health – are that is has higher rates of drug-taking, of suicide, it has the life of a male reduced by up to 20 years

The first error should be obvious to all, he starts the sentence with I think.  I think that if he thinks then his thinking is somewhat faulty.  The second error is that the notion that somehow people who are gay have a reduced lifespan.  This often used phrase is based on a report that is well over 30 years old, dubious to start with, and given at the start of the AIDS epidemic.

The life of smokers is reduced by something like seven to 10 years and yet we tell all our kids at school they shouldn’t smoke.

Well yes, those that smoke may die early from a horrible cancer.  In what is often a long and drawn out process the smoker goes through many treatments that attempt to rid the body of the self-inflicted disease, we all support them and tell that we hope they get better, eventually they fall into a coma that my be medically induced, and starve to death because we can’t bring ourselves to knock them off earlier.

Whereas they young gay person may cut their lifespan because they’ve heard that they have a ‘lifestyle’ that means they should forever live in shame.  They will hear worlds like Wally’s saying how wrong it is.  They will hear him say:

We have to accept the unfortunate levels of suicide, the unfortunate levels of excessive drug use (are) because of the nature of the lifestyle.  I am very sorry for that. My heart goes out to those people. But it is a fact.

Wally is really suggesting that we have to accept that gay kids will kill themselves.  It’s unfortunate he says, but gay people choose this lifestyle, therefore they deserve to die young.  Of course, he makes it sound like it’s tragic, he’s heart goes out to ‘those people’ but as he clearly knows, this is a fact.

We shouldn’t be surprised that he thinks it’s a fact.  He still thinks the whole bible thing is a pretty good idea and treats that like it’s fact.  In fact, despite his words to say otherwise, the real fact about why he thinks being gay is wrong, is because it says so in the bible, it also says that homosexuals should be put to death.  That’s a fact.

Just ask Wally.

Francis, Wally, the Catholics and the UN http://www.brucellama.com/2012/07/20/2990/ Fri, 20 Jul 2012 12:22:35 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2990 [SOURCE]

The State of Queensland has slipped back into the dark ages with their government doing all it can to retract any laws that favour anyone who isn’t straight.

And the Australian Cuntian Lobby love it.

In her latest newsletter, Wendy Francis is so excited about their achievements!  I can feel her bosom wobbling from here, no wait, that’s an earthquake.

Another cause for celebration was the announcement from the Attorney General that Queensland’s altruistic surrogacy laws would be amended. Since 2009, the Australian Christian Lobby and other family groups have been lobbying for repeal of aspects of the Surrogacy Act which allows single or same-sex couples to obtain a baby using surrogacy, knowing in advance that they are depriving that child of either a mother or a father. The International Convention on the Rights of the Child states that “the child shall, wherever possible, grow up in the care and under the responsibility of his parents … a child of tender years shall not, save in exceptional circumstances, be separated from his mother”. That deprivation of a child’s birthright is the central offence of surrogacy for singles or same-sex couples. Under current Queensland law the birth certificate for such a baby is altered so that only the names of the single adult or the same-sex couple are recorded as “parent(s)”. We continue to monitor this debate closely and look forward to this wrong being righted.

She’s sort of edited that bit, and it’s actually from the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959), it says this in Principal Six:

The child, for the full and harmonious development of his personality, needs love and understanding. He shall, wherever possible, grow up in the care and under the responsibility of his parents, and, in any case, in an atmosphere of affection and of moral and material security; a child of tender years shall not, save in exceptional circumstances, be separated from his mother. Society and the public authorities shall have the duty to extend particular care to children without a family and to those without adequate means of support. Payment of State and other assistance towards the maintenance of children of large families is desirable.

She replaced “and, in any case, in an atmosphere of affection and of moral and material security;” with “…”  Rather changes the meaning when you put back “and, in any case”

If we have a look at the International Convention of the Rights of the Child, (1990) under Article 21 regarding adoption it says:

Ensure that the adoption of a child is authorized only by competent authorities who determine, in accordance with applicable law and procedures and on the basis of all pertinent and reliable information, that the adoption is permissible in view of the child’s status concerning parents, relatives and legal guardians and that, if required, the persons concerned have given their informed consent to the adoption on the basis of such counselling as may be necessary;

The person concerned have given their informed consent, the adoption is authorised by competent authorities.  That sounds really really clear to me.

If we go back to Article 2:

States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to ensure that the child is protected against all forms of discrimination or punishment on the basis of the status, activities, expressed opinions, or beliefs of the child’s parents, legal guardians, or family members.

No discrimination on the basis of the status of the child’s parents, legal guardians or family members.

Like the bible, Wendy is great at picking the bits she likes and ignores the rest.  Here’s another example, the Convention says in Article 34:

States Parties undertake to protect the child from all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. For these purposes, States Parties shall in particular take all appropriate national, bilateral and
multilateral measures to prevent:
(a) The inducement or coercion of a child to engage in any unlawful sexual activity;
(b) The exploitative use of children in prostitution or other unlawful sexual practices;
(c) The exploitative use of children in pornographic performances and materials.

A search of the ACL website for media releases regarding catholic child sex abuse yields a great big fat 0.

You will however find this delightful media release in which our mate Wally says:

News that two men in New South Wales have become the first couple in the state to be declared the parents of a baby born through surrogacy is a gross abuse of the rights of the child, according to the Australian Christian Lobby.

You know what a gross abuse is?  It’s certainly is not two men having a baby and loving it to the best of their ability.  No, a gross abuse is of a child’s human rights when they are sexually abuse and exploited by the catholic church.  The ACL is only concerned that law-abiding citizens are deprived of children and children deprived of a loving family.  While doing nothing to raise the issue of child sex abuse in the catholic church.  They don’t even call for an enquiry or to even condemn it outright.

They dare to pick out the bits of the UN conventions that suit their grubby little lobby while ignoring the larger picture.  No call from the lobby for a Royal Commission into child sex abuse.  Nothing.

If I didn’t know better I’d think that the ACL was keen on keeping all the kiddies inside their church as fodder for the wicked priest.  But surely that’s not the case and any day now the ACL will issue a major finding in how the rights of the child must be considered when selecting a church to attend to ensure that Article 34 of the UN Convention is fully met.

Noisy ACL Gloat http://www.brucellama.com/2012/06/23/2906/ Sat, 23 Jun 2012 02:08:49 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2906 [SOURCE]

Last night’s announcement on overturning surrogacy for same-sex couples and singles in Queensland is because of a grassroots movement of people fed up with a minority agenda driving social policy in Australia.

Oh Wally, going straight for the gloat.  Nothing grassroots about it, there has been no mass protest, this came completely out of the blue.  The LNP knew that advance notice would lead to a mass grassroots outcry.

Australian Christian Lobby Managing Director Jim Wallace said people were tired of this agenda putting the rights of adults ahead of the rights of children, truth and biology.

What a crock of shit. In Wally’s eyes anyone who can’t have children by putting one thing inside another and thrusting isn’t entitled to have a child.  He seems to forget the many millions of children that are conceived by the thrusting thing and then abandoned or abused by their parents.  At least when a gay couple has decided they would like children it’s because they actually want them.

“What we saw in the Queensland Parliament last night was the response to a groundswell of concern for marriage and putting the rights of children first in public policy,” Mr Wallace said.

No you didn’t, what you saw was a government whose first concern wasn’t to clean up the mess that they perceive is left from the previous government, but to target a minority group and treat them like shit and like second class citizens.

“While most people are tolerant and supportive of removing discrimination from same-sex couples, something already achieved at State and Commonwealth level, the selfish agenda of some activists has been given too much prominence in public policy.

While most people are tolerant?  Most people would not include the likes of you Wally.  Selfish activists?  What are you?  You want all rights for people wiped away just so you can have your own ‘christian values’ forced on the rest of us, and yet we have a selfish agenda?   You actually believe that the only way to be an Australian is your way.  Fuck that for a joke.

“Ordinary people are repulsed by the sort of behaviour witnessed in the Queensland Parliament’s public gallery last night where MPs were abused, demonised and called bigots because they supported marriage remaining between a man and a woman – a daily ordeal for those advocating for marriage in the public arena.

Ordinary people?  Are you seriously suggesting that those who don’t agree with the decisions made by the Queensland Parliament are not ‘ordinary’? That they should just shut the fuck up because what parliament says goes?  This didn’t stop your christian friends from shutting the fuck up when the laws where passed by the previous government.  You think revoking the rights of a section of the community because some of them might like to enjoy the notion of celebrating their partnership is wrong?  All because it ‘mimics marriage’.  The motivation for the renaming and watering down of the ‘marriage like’ civil partnerships is nothing short of discrimination and vilification of gay people.  It’s a repulsive and petty agenda from a small faction of christians.

“Millions of Australians, including Prime Minister Julia Gillard, do not support redefining marriage and they are distressed at being labelled bigots and haters because of their view,” Mr Wallace said.

Millions of Australians do support the redefining of marriage, and we are distressed at being labelled faggots and evil because of our view.

“The strength of resolve within the LNP last night is evidence that the democratic process, which has delivered many first time MPs into the Queensland Parliament, is representative of community values on marriage and the best interests of children.”

No it’s not.  The LNP party did not sweep into power because the gays could get married or have babies.  They swept into power because a long-standing Labor government was on the nose for a thousand other reasons.

The LNP’s rank and file, one of the largest of any political party in the nation, has overwhelmingly passed policy motions in support of marriage and against allowing surrogacy arrangements for singles and same-sex couples.

“It would be great if there was more media attention on what was happening in majority grassroots politics than on minority activists,” Mr Wallace said.

Minority activists?  Remind us again Wally, just who does the ACL represent?  Oh, that’s right, rich white folk.  Hardly majority grassroots.

In November 2009, ACL led a large grassroots campaign against the then Bligh Government’s surrogacy laws which saw a massive public response and 2034 actual Queenslanders signing a petition in the days before the vote.

Wait – there are 2034 actual Queenslanders who can sign petitions?  Who would have thought! That’s such a massive response I can see why you’re all boned up Wally!  I’d bet you that a massive public response is more likely to be “We don’t give a fuck, why don’t you find my child a job?”

Mr Wallace said former Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser, who champioed the activists’ agenda in the dying days of the government, was unable to save his city seat despite the clear intent of Bligh’s rush of pro same sex legislation to deliver it.

Are you really suggesting that Fraser lost his seat because of the civil partnership laws?  That and that alone saw him swept from office.  I call bullshit on your bullshit you bullshitter.

“I hope MPs in Canberra will discern between noisy activists and the wishes of grassroots Australians as they consider the up-coming debate on same-sex marriage.”

You, Wally, and your rich white folk backers are the noisy activists, wanting to shove your minority view onto the rest of the population.   You dare to threaten the Australian Government with your little snide attempt to say that if they don’t listen to you you’ll make sure they’re run out of office.  To the credit of the previous Queensland Labor Government they didn’t listen to you.  We can only hope that those in Canberra see your position for what it is.  Vile poison.

Wally Does it Again! http://www.brucellama.com/2012/06/11/wally-does-it-again/ http://www.brucellama.com/2012/06/11/wally-does-it-again/#comments Mon, 11 Jun 2012 07:51:20 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2820 [SOURCE]

Earlier in the week our mate Wally was on Sunrise, comparing Kerryn Phelps and the marriage equality campaign to the Nazis.  Read up about this with my bear friend Gladly the Cross-Eyed Bear, gay rights activist Michael Barnett on the support website, Aleph and of course the wonderfully delightful Gregory Storer.

Then time warp yourself to Weekend Sunrise if you can bear it, watch the video at source link above.  The panel discussion, called “Same Sex Marriage, Why are so many christians opposed?” has two priests and our mate Wally.  The blokes from the catholic and anglican churches are fairly boring religious types.  I didn’t think much of either of them.

I want to focus on Wally, coz I like to focus on him, he seems to attract a lot of attention.

At the top of the segment, the host, Andrew O’Keefe starts with this introduction:

The ACL asked their members to complain to the Seven Network and its sponsors, as of yesterday Sunrise had received more than 15,000 emails about 90% of which where negative, i.e. opposed to Same Sex Marriage, in contrast the I Do campaign did received more than 40,000 message of support for the show.

Yes, indeed, people did complain to Channel Seven and to the sponsors, compare this with the response from the ACL in February 2011 when some people complained about the ANZ bank and IBM supporting Online Opinion that got some bad press because of their comments moderation policy:

“Anyone involved in trying to defend marriage and the natural structures of family against this lobby, is used to the stream of vitriol and abuse that greets any view contrary to their agenda,” said ACL Managing Director Jim Wallace, “but the silencing of alternate views through On Line Opinion, and who knows what other social and conventional media, is beyond the pail in a democratic society.”

“But we should be especially appalled that ANZ and IBM would submit to the clear tactic of this very aggressive Lobby to close down debate on a very important issue,” said Mr Wallace “and especially when the public at large had no way of knowing that the debate was being censored and would not have expected it to be on a forum for debate of as high standing as On Line Opinion,”.

Correct me if I’m wrong here Wally, but didn’t you try to shut down the debate on this very important issue by asking your aggressive supporters to lobby the TV station and their sponsors?  Aren’t you trying the same tactics to censor those who oppose your view?

But, wait, he’s got more:

“If we are to have a full debate on this issue it must be that,” said Mr Wallace, “not one closed down by abuse and deceptive tactics or corporate pressure and collusion to limit free speech, as we have seen used here by homosexual activists and their apparent allies.“

Feel free to roll your eyes.

Back to the show on Saturday.

O’Keefe:

Now Jim as I’ve mentioned at the top of the segment, we’ve had a lot of response about this over the course of the week. many of the responses are pretty much cut and paste variants of the email that you have sent from your lobby. There are some that have been extremely vitriolic I have to say, what do you say to those who want to make their views known about this?

See that, the fact is that the ACL have asked people to send emails to Sunrise, some of those are vitriolic. What do you say Wally?

Well certainly I’d be very surprised if those are coming from christians, I’d be very disappointed,

You must be disappointed then.  You call for christians to send the emails and then you want to distance yourself from them?  So anyone sending a vitriolic email must be from the other side?

I mean we have people on our websites all the time that come on and pose as christians and then end up proving themselves not, usually by the language.

Oh, so now you’re the victim are you Wally?  Over 15,000 emails are sent to Sunrise, 90% negative and you have people attacking you on your website!  Anybody that uses bad language can’t possibly be christian.  They are all just pretending to be christian. You fuckwit.

We have had to trash in the last week around 100 emails that have just been vitriolic, vile language, so I very much doubt that those are coming from christians,

100 emails!  Fuck me!  Only 100 emails that can’t be christian because they use vitriolic language.  O’Keefe said that 90% of their emails were negative and some of them quite vitriolic.  You claim that they’re not christians and suggest that they are probably gay people pretending to be christian just to make a point.

and there’s a lot of deception around this debate, but I would certainly encourage christians to stand up, we’ve certainly encouraged them to do that,

Yes, there’s a lot of deception.  Mostly from the ACL – you guys want the world to be dictated by your values and everyone else can go stick their head up a dead bears bum (not Gladly)

we don’t agree with Sunrise taking on the role of a n activist organisation, partnering itself so visibly and publicly with Getup! in particular, which is constantly issuing emails which only this week for instance said that those that oppossed gay marriage were propergaters of hate, know there’s no place for this in the public square, from either side of the debate.

That’s right Wally, there’s no place for hate, and yet you willingly bring into the debate the chief propagator of Nazi propagander machine and compare the gay rights campaign to his campaign.  You arsehole.

You say there is no room for hate in the public square, but you allow comments like this on your blog:

The problem is that when society turns away from God evil thrives. The Bible states that in the end evil will be seen as good and good will be seen as evil. We are arriving at this truth.

That’s right, anyone who doesn’t believe in your god is evil.  Because I don’t believe in your god I’m evil thriving.   Or perhaps this is one of those people who aren’t really a christian Wally?  Maybe you forgot to ditch this comment?

Wally, you may not say that you think gay people are evil, you may pretend to be all christian and nice, but at the end of the day Wally, your brand of christianity thinks that gay people are evil.  You think that evil people go to hell for all eternity, then you make believe that it’s the fault of the person, they deserve to burn forever.   You think being gay, wanting marriage equality is the work of the devil and must be stopped.

Your hate for anything ‘gay’ is just below the surface Wally.

ACL’s Jim Wallace calls gay people Nazis http://www.brucellama.com/2012/06/07/2810/ http://www.brucellama.com/2012/06/07/2810/#comments Thu, 07 Jun 2012 04:29:06 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2810 [SOURCE]

This morning on Sunrise on Channel 7 there was a debate between Kerryn Phelps and Wally (Jim Wallace of the ACL).

Wally said this:

I would like to just say that I think this whole campaign would do great credit to Joseph Goebbels, because what we’ve had, we’ve had the demonisation

I choked on my breakfast as he trotted those words out.

In July 2011 Wallace said this:

“The use of this language of demonisation of anyone who speaks or acts in support of marriage must stop”, said ACL MD Jim Wallace. “It is a tactic that deserves to be roundly condemned from the highest levels, carrying as it does severe consequences for free speech and expression in our society.”1

What a horrible thing to say.  Kerryn Phelps who admits to being married in a jewish ceremony, no doubt knows of jewish people that are victimised by the likes of Goebbels.

Wally needs to be roundly condemned for his language.

In an effort to say just how much christians are demonised Wallace commits the unforgivable error of comparing gay people with the Nazi’s.    He demonises every gay person by comparing them to Goebbels. Hitlers right hand man.

How offensive of him.  While they are making claims of their rights being trampled on, him and his ilk will stoop to name calling to make their point.  They enjoy making Nazi references.

Wally needs to resign right now, he needs to apologise and fuck off.

Preston is no anti-abortion hero http://www.brucellama.com/2012/05/07/preston-is-no-anti-abortion-hero/ http://www.brucellama.com/2012/05/07/preston-is-no-anti-abortion-hero/#comments Sun, 06 May 2012 14:04:53 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2776 [SOURCE]

So, a Brisbane man, Graham Preston, has been jailed for not paying his fines worth $8,000.  He was fined for trespassing and resisting arrest.  He places himself between women trying to enter a clinic and intimidates and stops them from entering.

The women are heading into the clinic for an abortion.  This christian puts himself between the woman and the clinic.  For the last ten years he has been fined.  He’s refused to pay.  He’s been asked over 100 times to pay the bill, but has refused.

Christian fuck-wits now think this serial pest is a hero.  Me old mate Spinksys says this “Jailed for Being Pro-life

Pro-lifer Graham Preston is facing 8 months in jail for peacefully protesting outside of abortion clinics. He is a strong reminder of the possible repercussions that can be faced for standing against immorality

No, he wasn’t peaceful at all.  He was trespassing and making a nuisance of himself.  He was yelling in the faces of women trying to go about their personal business.

Billy the Mule has a bit to say too:

He is back at it again, willing to lose his freedoms on the behalf of the unborn. Graham is now back in prison for another eight months. His crime? Seeking to prevent those who would continue the genocide of the unborn. Just as earlier brave culture warriors – usually Christians – fought the evil slave trade, so too today some heroic believers are putting their life on the line for the unborn.

Actually, if Preston was interested in doing his bit, he would pay the fine so that he could continue to protest.  Now he’s locked up.  And his crime was that he didn’t pay the fines, not for preventing ‘genocide of the unborn’.  This is nothing like fighting the slave trade, and he is not putting his life on the line for anyone.  He broke the law, he refused to pay the fine and has been locked up.  It’s really simple.

Meanwhile, Wally over at the ACL says this

Brisbane father Graham Preston has been jailed for eight months for peacefully protesting in front of the doors of Brisbane abortion clinics and refusing to move.

No, he was fined for trespass.  He was fined for getting in the way.  He was jailed because he didn’t pay those fines, he was not jailed for peacefully protesting.

Christians just love to overlook the obvious.  Call him a hero because they really need a hero.

The reality is the ‘protest’ is a vigil that sees someone sitting on the stairs blocking people trying to gain access to the building.  People visiting the clinic have to step over the protesters.  They sit there with their little signs that say “Abortion kills children” and think that they’re doing gods work.

Those women visiting are confronted by people who think they know better.  I don’t know what it’s like to decide to have an abortion, but I think people making that decision have already done a lot of thinking.  This emotional protest is pretty grotesque and designed to make the woman feel guilt and cause deep emotional distress.

Preston is a fool, he should have paid the fines and ceased his obstruction.  Instead he is now costing us more money and christians nutters reckon this is a good thing.

The values of christians is pretty fucked up.  They want everyone to play by their rules alone.  When the police or the state step in to remove them, they scream about being the victims and not having the freedom to protest.

Outrageous! It’s a travesty!  They didn’t do it my way!  It’s almost unchallenged!

Never mind that the Genome Project mapped the genetic makeup of the whole human body without finding a gay gene

Never mind that the Genome Project mapped the genetic makeup of the whole human body without finding a heterosexual fuckwit gene.

I mean really, is that the best you can do Wally?

Doug Pollard, a broadcaster on gay radio station Joy FM, asserting that science proved homosexuality was not a choice without offering a shred of evidence.

That’s right, Doug must be gay coz he’s on a gay radio station, therefore he’s a liar and a homosexual activist and he makes things up to support his own opinion, and he just isn’t right and he’s trying to turn the whole world gay and he’s trying to ** brain fart.

Doug has gone to the trouble to give the answer you wanted, he posted it to your website, we all wait to see if you approve it.  If you don’t there’s a copy at the bottom of this blog post1

Still it seems you are not allowed to advance even the idea that it might be a matter of choice.

You’re really stretching it here aren’t you.  Nowhere is there any credible research that even indicates that sexuality is a choice.  Sure, sure, there’s all that religious crap, but they always have formed their answer and do their darndest to find the evidence to match.  The biggest hint for you in this matter, Wally old man, is to ask yourself when you made a choice to be straight.  Sorry, I assumed you’re straight.  You are straight?  Then you need to ask this question, “Why would anyone want to be gay in this world when there are bigots and homophobes trying to get rid of you?”

This lazy ruling by a Council against whom there is no avenue for appeal is an outrageous capitulation to homosexual activists aggressively intolerant of any position which does not line up with their views. It is bad enough that we have the public demonization of any alternate voices by charges of bigotry, gay hate and homophobia, without the profession we rely on most to protect freedom of expression aiding and abetting its public propaganda.

Careful Wally, I can see the veins throbbing in your temples.

You do understand that we have a right to challenge people’s perceptions.

You do understand that we have a right to question and remark upon the comments of silly people who base their position on what was written in a book that is over 2000 years old.  They pretend it to be the word of some supernatural being who created everyone, including people who you think choose to be gay.

You honestly think that the notion that sexuality is a choice is helping anyone at all?  Check the suicide stats and see who’s killing themselves.  Yeah, that’s right, gay kids, they’d sooner kill themselves rather than undo the choice you think they made.

Talk about public demonization.  Talk about aggressively intolerant of any position which doesn’t line up with your view.

The issue of gay marriage and perhaps more importantly what our children are taught about homosexuality, is critical for our society.

Yeah, coz we really want to make sure that kids growing up know and understand that their sexuality is innate and whatever it is, it’s ok.

It is to decide how we value the essential functions of motherhood and fatherhood and whether an aggressive minority can impose a new definition on an institution defined by biology since man and woman first procreated.

Umm… you’re the head of the ACL, which again and again has been shown not to be representative of the constituency that you pretend to represent.  Most christians are not represented by you, that makes you a minor player.

You call the homosexual activist an aggressive minority while doing the same thing.  You actually think that somehow marriage is a biological institution just coz men and women have sex and have babies?  You ignore the fact that you can fuck without being married.  And you actually think that this minority of gay people will somehow bring our civilisation to a collapse because some of them want to get married and have kids.  Those gay couples who do decide to do that will always be in a minority.

But with this decision it has become a deeper matter of not only truth, but on what topic our freedom of expression will be limited.

And yet, here you are exercising your free speech right by publishing this outrageous document, and here’s the press council telling the newspaper not that they can’t print this rot, but they have to offer sufficient space for a rebuttal.

Just where has the free speech been limited?

Commented on ACL website – tho they probably won’t post it.
As the Doug Pollard in question I find it very amusing Mr Wallace that you could not be bothered to Google the very extensive research that is available online that does indeed provide the scientific evidence you prefers not to seek: Rachel Maddow yesterday dealt with this issue inn two excellent items here http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/rachel-maddow-how-the-ex-gay-movement-has-harmed-every-gay-persons-life/politics/2012/04/19/38259 , including the refutation by Switzer of his own research that you can now no longer use as ‘proof’ people can change.

The man to whom he made this admission has laos written about the confidence trick that is NARTH, another organisation you are fond of relying on for your ‘science’. http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2012/04/11/43514

As I pointed out in my rebuttal, almost every posterboy the ‘gay cure’ lobby has ever put up as ‘proof’ has eventually either admitted that nothing changed and they are still gay (see the Maddow link above) or been sprung cruising gay bars in their spare time.

It would be a joke if this nonsense didn’t do severe psychological damage to the poor souls caught up in the cycle of self-hatred and despair you promote.

One Australian man who was trapped in this horror freed himself and now helps others: Paul Martin http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/queensland/gay-psychologist-sees-the-light/2008/12/17/1229189662679.html

Anthony Venn-Brown is another, who was an evangelical preacher before he too faced facts and now helps people reconcile their homosexuality and their faith. Now THAT’S a REAL Christian.

May I implore you to open your eyes to the truth before you do any more damage to vulnerable people.

Human Rights in Iran and Christian Hypocrisy http://www.brucellama.com/2011/12/19/human-rights-in-iran-and-christian-hypocrisy/ Mon, 19 Dec 2011 08:50:55 +0000 http://www.brucellama.com/?p=2485 [SOURCE]

I’ve been doing some very ugly research.  It’s been revealing and disturbing.  The interwebs is full of dark places.

There’s an Iranian man waiting for execution because he was foolish enough to change from being a muslim to being a christian.  In Iran they will hang you for that.

However, the Iranians aren’t hanging people.  They string them up and they strangle them to death.  It’s torture.  It’s inhuman and it goes on every day.   I’ve seen the videos.

To see the extent of capital punishment in Iran have a look here for brief descriptions of public executions (No graphical content).

Now I’m really sorry about the Iranian guy who’s on the death list, you should be able to change your religion without fear of being persecuted or executed.  Really though, you’d think it was the only thing happening in Iran when it comes to some christians.  The only reason the churches take an interest in the death of otherwise innocent people is because they’re christian.  Take the Australian Christian Lobby, are they lobbying our Government to make sure that all Iranians are given a fair trial?  No.  Are they lobbying to have the Government push to remove the death penalty in Iran?  No. They’ll lobby the Government to speak out on behalf of the Pastor. But don’t say anything about all the other deaths going on.  The ACL will lobby for a woman, not because killing her is wrong, but because of the religious law that condemns her.  They don’t ask to repeal the death penalty, they ask that we stand up for women’s rights under sharia law.  They remain silent on the issue of horrendous human lives being taken.

Iran was ranked second only to China as the world’s leading executioner. This year alone there have been 600 reported executions up to the end of November.1

Here is a chance for the ACL to stand up and be counted.  Here’s a chance for them to mobilise their forces to speak out against this great tragedy in Iran.  But what do we get instead from the supposed moral guardians of Australia?  Opposition to marriage equality, lobbying for chaplains in schools and sanctimonious posturing on prostitution.  Here they are arguing for the life of a man because he’s a convert to christianity, all the while ignoring the plight of so many other Iranians.

The ACL is morally and ethically corrupt.  A bunch of hypocritical old men and women who don’t give a load of cheap soft drink cans about anything other than their attempt to push their narrow world view on everyone else.

If they got their way, they would have christian law enacted throughout Australia and suddenly they’d be dealing with non christians by beating them and locking them up.
