I can hardly let it pass without making comment about the stupidity of it all. So, the swine flu sweeps out of Mexico, they claim to have 170 people die from it. Mexico goes into shutdown. (Later the number is reduced to 12 or so)
The World Health Organisation, the word pandemic, if you’ve been watching the media at all lately you know what’s been going on.
The problem with all of this is the media. Hype. I hate the way they do problem saturation.
How can we take anything reported in the media seriously? How much is the World Health Organisation to blame for this?
For the last few years we have been subjected to doom and gloom with bird flu, SARS, swine flu and no doubt a whole lot more to come.
What happens when something does happen, something that really requires us to sit up and pay attention. Who will we trust for our news and views?
I’m sure the world yearns for news as it should be, the telling of the facts without the hype. It’s time to hold the media accountable for their deplorable reporting techniques.
I can’t let it slip by without comment that the Egyptian government has gone all out and asked for the slaughter all pigs in Egypt. Despite the fact that the pigs pose no threat. Just what the world needs silly governments and silly media outlets.
