Court, Gays and Jesus – Picking your bible verse

[SOURCE]

I don't think this is Margs

Margaret Court use to whack a ball around a court, she was quite famous for it. Margs (to her mates) then went on and opened up a church after she found that she could make money by peddling bronze age myths and pretending they were relevant in this day and age.

Recently she’s been rabbiting on about the gays bringing the world as we know it to an end.  She thinks we are in a steep moral decline.  It’s the gays fault, it’s in the bible, and that’s good enough for her.

We get them (homosexuals) in (at church) and you’ll find that many, many of them have been abused

She actually thinks that men are gay because they were sexually abused as children.  So, girls abused by women become lesbians? Boys abused by men become gay?  What about girls abused by men?  Perhaps they become pastors.

While she focuses on how a few words in the bible says that people who are gay are an abomination, she ignores the words of Paul1 when he clearly says:

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Shame on your Margs.  Now shut the fuck up.

MFM and Australia Day Medals

[SOURCE]

Father Paul has received a Medal of the Order of Australia, after being instrumental in the international recognition of Australia’s first Catholic Saint, Mary MacKillop.

Seems we’ll give medals to people who spend a vast majority of their time wasting it in tasks that benefit nobody.

I worked at it for a long time and did work that needed to be done…

The good father could have spent his time doing something useful, like helping poor people get on with their lives.  Instead he works for 25 years elevating some dead nun to sainthood.  A process that is more about the catholic church PR machine than anything remotely useful.

Read more on MFM – I’ve written plenty of blogs about it.

Spinksy and Timmy – new best friends in jesus

[SOURCE]

Here’s a really good example of the insanity of belief.

My mate, Spinksy over at the suitably named Resistance to Thinking website is carrying on about Tim Tebow, some whacky christian footballer who’s good at scoring or some shit.  He drops to one knee and prays at strange times, in public, while doing his footy thing.  He also paints bible references on his face.  He thinks that he loves jesus.

Tebow has become a bit of a laughing stock, with plenty of people mocking his dropping to the knee thing.

It seems that when Mrs. Tebow conceived her fourth child, young Timmy, she was advised to have an abortion, it’s not stated exactly why, and it doesn’t really matter.  The doctor apparently said the fetus was a tumor, and the good woman should abort it to save her life.

However, she trusts the lord her god and keeps it against the advice.  Of course, none of this can be independently verified, it all happened while the Mrs and the Mr and the three other kids were doing missionary work in the Philippines.

So, people like Spinksy think that this is clear proof that all abortion should be stopped.  He also thinks that god has a plan and wanted Tebow to live.

If only we all were grateful for our existence. Tim Tebow continues to defy both critics and physicians. His story is a strong testament of God’s purposes coming to fruition.

What possible purpose or strong testament could there possibly be?  That abortion is wrong?  If Hitlers mother had of come out and said that she was offered an abortion, would that be a good thing or a bad thing?

This lamenting of things that may be is just wishful thinking.  If Tebow wasn’t born, we wouldn’t have any fucking idea, nobody would be saying “if only Mrs Tebow hadn’t aborted that fetus”.  It’s all about this crazy idea that their make believe deity has a plan.  Look, shit just happens.  If you want to think of nice things, then you should also think of bad things.  How many times has the world be spared from dictators by abortion?  (And the standard christian response is that at least the dictator would have a chance to accept jesus as their lord and saviour)

So while there are people starving, christians fundamentalist fuckwits like Spinksy actually think that their god is using a footballer to get the message out.  That god needs to spend more time looking at the big issues not helping some half wit lob a ball or score a touchdown or kick a goal. whatever the fuck it is.

More on Billys Book

[SOURCE]

In fact, I predicted last year what the truth-haters would do when my new book appeared: they would deny it, and then, attack it. My thoroughly-documented book on homosexuality, Strained Relations, complete with 707 footnotes, is being treated exactly as I said it would be.

Oh yawn.

Billy, billy, billy, you said:

They will go ballistic, and will basically seek to shoot the messenger. Instead of dealing with all of the data and evidence I present here, they will simply attack me big time. If I thought I was getting a lot of hate mail and death threats already, just wait and see what lies ahead.

And guess what, nobody has gone ballistic.  Let’s face it, your book is irrelevant and has simply been ignored.  That must really hurt.

Not only did the original print run sell out in the first nine weeks, so that a second print run is now available, but various outlets which are not dominated by PC considerations and fear of the homosexual militants have been promoting the volume.

Various outlets not dominated by PC will be christian bookstores.  Hardly the home of the blockbuster book.  (yes, yes, everyone sells bibles, not the same thing).  How many was the first print run billy the author?  500?  1,000?  How many?  How many have you actually sold?  How many did you give away?  Not many would be my guess.

Just last week I did an hour-long interview with a national-wide radio program about the book. It occurred because the interviewer happened to be a Christian who had the courage to want to see truth exposed in the public arena. So despite the MSM and homosexual blackout, the word is getting out anyway.

So, what sort of radio station would do an hour-long interview with the author of a small run book that has no impact on society at all?  My guess is that it was 20/Twenty on Vision FM.  Vision FM is indeed a national network of christian radio stations, with over 500 stations relaying their broadcasts.  Of course, the only way to pick them up is to stand on the roof with an antenna pointed to the low powered transmitter.  If you happen to live next door to the transmission tower you’d probably be able to pick it up.  Hardly what I’d call the public arena.

But when the truth can no longer be quarantined and censored out, then the second strategy will be all-out attack. Once it becomes impossible to keep a lid on this book, then the attack dogs will be unleashed to do their vicious hatchet jobs.

OK, this should be fun.  I wonder how long we have to wait for the lid to pop off and just who will release the attack dogs.  Smithers no doubt.

Poor Billy delivers another attempt to drum up some support for his largely ignored book, he even lets some negative comments in on his blog post, probably in some vague hope of drumming up a bit more business.

There’s no substance to Billy the author.  He doesn’t provide the facts and figures, he won’t even mention the radio station.  He’s keen to point out how well his book is researched, it has footnotes and everything,  yet he demonstrates that he will only deal with facts when they support his view.

Great Predictions for the New Year

At this time last year I made some predictions for 2011 in this post.

I made the predictions after reading the predictions of Craig, an Englishman who thinks he can predict the future.  It’s worth reviewing his predictions for 2011, just to check in and see how well he went.

First off, last year he simply provided a list of his predictions:

  1. Two Industrial explosions – one in Indian that is reminiscent of the Bhopal disaster in scale and another in China
  2. In August, three UK soldiers win Victoria Crosses for daring night raid deep into Taliban stronghold.
  3. Denial of Service attack on USA Banks by foreign country causes failures to Internet.
  4. Tropical Island is evacuated due to volcanic eruption
  5. Earthquake in California and the famous Hollywood sign is damaged.
  6. Wild animal disease scare results in mass slaughter of livestock.
  7. The Spring month will see angry demonstrations over wage and pension cuts
  8. William and Kate Royal Wedding Plans announced.
  9. In February the Beckhams reveal that are planning a divorce.
  10. Liverpool win the FA cup

During the year, he went on to expand his list and give a bit more detail.  Let’s see if we can match his latest version of the page with the original predictions.

Craig’s Predictions for 2011

POLITICS

In the Spring months there will be massive protests worldwide.

That seems to be 7.  Tweaking that slightly he can now claim the unrest in Spain and Greece as fitting that prediction.  I suspect however, he was talking about England when he made the first prediction.

In the UK we will see demonstrations about the upcoming cuts but there will also be worldwide political upheaval and protests.

Worldwide upheaval was not on the original list.

A leading politician will die in a plane crash – I think this is a UK politician.

Wrong and a new prediction.

Expect to see sweeping political changes this year.

Any year really.  And this is new – so he can claim the unrest in the middle east.

In my meditations and dreams I saw a wounded tiger – a symbol perhaps of war and revenge.

Yeah, whatever.

UPDATE: Worldwide political upheaval happening: Gadaffi and throughout Arab World.

UPDATE: Riots on the streets of London.

Oh yes, he didn’t actually predict the toppling of Gaddafi or the death of Bin Laden or the unsettling of the Government in Egypt, but claims this as evidence of his new prediction for world upheaval. What year goes by without some sort of riot in the streets.

BUSINESS
Confidence in the Eastern economies will be shaken after a series of huge industrial accidents. I believe India may see a nuclear accident and a chemical industrial accident in China. The Industrial accident in India – which may be nuclear – is reminiscent of the Bhopal disaster with far reaching consequences for people’s health.

UPDATE: Series of huge nuclear accidents have happened in Japan (I had predicted China)

This would seem to be prediction 1.  No mention of eastern economies, no nuclear accident in India, not that we are aware of.   Probably there was a chemical accident in China.  Not that they’d tell the rest of the world.  He then goes on to claim credit for the ‘accident’ in Japan, which wasn’t so much accidental but a direct result of an earthquake and tsunami.  Neither of which he predicted.  And you know, China and Japan, it’s all really the same thing.

NATURAL DISASTERS
This will be a year of earthquakes and volcanic activity. I am concerned that there will be a serious quake in California after a number of bad quakes elsewhere in the world. In my meditations I saw the famous Hollywood sign on it’s side and damaged. there will also be unprecedented volcanic activity. In my scrying I saw an island being evacuated. My thoughts went to Hawaii but I could not be certain. For my news prediction I wrote it as ‘tropical island evacuated’. In Spirit & Destiny I wrote: “Wild animal disease scare results in mass slaughter of livestock.”

UPDATE: New Zealand and Japanese Earthquakes have happened. August 2011 New York Earthquakes.

So, he’s wrapped 4, 5 and 6 up here.  Oh, and go check out scrying

Every year is a year of earthquakes and volcanic activity, no prizes there.  He didn’t predict the quakes in New Zealand or Japan, nor the very very minor tremor on the eastern seaboard of the USA.  There was no damage to the Hollywood sign.  He predicted earthquakes in California, which is a pretty sure bet.  He went on to expand it to worldwide in later updates.  I’m not aware of any islands be evacuated, but there have been on going eruptions during the year.  No prizes there.  I’m sure somewhere in the world there was the slaughter of livestock because of disease, I’m not aware of anything connected to wild animals.

CYBER WAR
For Spirit & Destiny Magazine I wrote: “Denial of Service attack on USA Banks by foreign country causes failures to Internet.” This has happened before, but in this instance I see an extensive disruption with maybe the whole Internet being effected to the point it is like being switched off.

UPDATE: Google Mail disabled by a Chinese cyber attack

This is guess 3.  Just wrong.  And nobody gives a rats arse about Gmail in China.

PEOPLE
For Spirit & Destiny I wrote: “William and Kate Royal Wedding Plans announced.” I also see serious troubles in the Beckham’s marriage. In Fate & Fortune I have predicted: “Paul McCartney makes a record with Yoko Ono in honour of John Lennon.” It would of course be an unlikely thing to happen but despite it’s absurdity I feel it will happen. I feel it may be a call for world peace. In Spirit & Destiny I have predicted: “In August, three UK soldiers win Victoria Crosses for daring night raid deep into Taliban stronghold.”

Ok, this is 2, 8 and 9.  As well as some extra guesses.  I don’t think McCartney and Ono made a record.  If they did it was a flop.  And we don’t seem to have world peace.  No surprises that the future king of England would get married.  It’s rather expected.  I don’t know if UK soldiers earned  (and not won) the VC.  No doubt he’ll somehow claim the death of Bin Laden as proof that his prediction came true.  (Which I think was an US operation, nothing to do with the Brits)

UPDATE: William and Kate marriage announced. Has happened just before the magazine we went to press – they work three to six months ahead of themselves so the insight proved right.

Yes, you predicted that for 2011.  The announcement happened in November, so you’re slightly off.

UPDATE: Beckham’s marriage troubles. I must have this one completely wrong. They have just announced they are to have another baby.)

Just this one?

SPORT
“Liverpool win the 2011 FA Cup.” I know absolutely nothing about football – which helps a bit as my own preconceptions will not interfere with the clairvoyance.

This is no 10.  Liverpool didn’t even get to the final.  Clearly you know nothing about football.  Which hasn’t helped at all.

So, 10 predictions.  9 wrong and 1 maybe.  He sort of got Will and Kate right.

His predictions for 2012 are up here, I’ve kept a copy and will have a review of them in January.  Oh, he’s already predicted that Kim Jong-il from North Korea dies.  Ya!

Making predictions is so unpredictable.

Anyway, I made some of my own predictions.  Using my super Llama Side-Kick Powers.  Here’s my list.

  1. A Nation will launch an attack on another nation
  2. A strike will happen when public servants become upset
  3. A celebrity will break up
  4. There will be a royal wedding
  5. There will be an earthquake and people will die.
  6. There will be a space accident
  7. An alpaca will stumble across a life changing secret that has been buried in the Andes but before the secret can be revealed to the rest of the world a hunter will shot and eat the alpaca.

Yep, 1 happened.  2 happened in Greece, 3 happened, think Kardashian.  4 is Will and Kate, 5, well duh. 6.  Yep.  7.  Check this out.

That’s 7 out of 7.  I’m a fucking legend.

So, that’s another fling around the sun on a wet lump of rock.  May your new year be full of fresh stuff and sweet-smelling Llamas.

Vaccination saves lives – stop messing around!

Vaccination Saves Lives: Stop The Australian Vaccination Network

Back in 2009 I told the story of one of my little llamas and his reaction to the pertussis vaccine.   That’s the one that stops the whooping-cough

It was pretty horrific, but it wouldn’t stop me from having my other llama’s vaccinated.  Clearly his reaction to pertussis wasn’t something we as responsible parents wanted to inflict upon him again, but what we needed was for other people to vaccinate.  Without that, the little llama runs the risk of getting whooping-cough from some other kid who hasn’t been vaccinated .

Imagine my surprise when reading about the Australian Vaccination Network.  This is what they have to say on their front page:

We believe it is a parent’s right to choose what’s best for their child…some would say that this is one of the most basic rules of any civilised society. Yet governments all over the world have abridged or denied the right to free choice when it comes to vaccinations, vaccines and immunisations. The Australian Vaccination Network is working to help parents take back that right to free and informed choice by allowing them to see the less publicised side of this important issue before making a decision.

Sure, it’s a parent’s right to choose what’s best.  However, it must be acknowledged that as a society we have obligations that we expect all members of that society to play by.  We call them laws.  Road laws is a good example.  If you are from one of the majority of places that drives on the right side of the road, coming to Australia, we have a rule that says you have to keep left.  It makes sense and the law is there for everyone’s protection.  To ignore it is a folly.  Sure you have a right to choose, but the rest of society will either stop you or make you comply.  It’s really simple, we have to do things that protect society as a whole, and sometimes that means everyone has to play along despite their personal beliefs.

The whole reason disease and sickness have been largely removed from our Australian society is because people vaccinate.  It’s an important responsibility living in such an egalitarian society.

To suggest that people should now have the choice is irresponsible and just plain foolish.

The people behind the AVN have been discredited many times, and yet they still get their misinformation out there.  Essentially they are saying that their individual rights trump those of the rest of society.  Meanwhile, they’ll expect the government to provide the support structures to look after the sick kids.  Those same kids could have been greatly helped by proper vaccinations.

I don’t want to see the resurgence of measles, mumps, rubella, whooping-cough and polio.

Congratulations to those who work behind the scenes at Stop the Australian Vaccination Network, they deserve your support!

For more information about the fight to discredit the AVN check out this summary.

New TV’s

All around the suburbs you can see old TV’s dumped on the side of the road.  The owners are hoping that someone will take them away, they probably still work.  But you know, there’s a new sort of TV available now.  They’re flat screens.  Bigger and brighter.  And it’s christmas!

Everyone has to have one.  Or two.  Or four.  One for each room.

Now, let’s talk about using up the valuable resources of which we have a limited supply.

What about those that don’t have much?

New phones, new tablets, bigger faster computers, just how much do we consume?  How much do we need to consume?

Spinksy on Carols

[SOURCE]

Spinksy is back for another mind-numbing blog of inane shit.

God is pleased with music that glorifies Him. The Psalms are full of adoring music to our creator and saviour. Many of the carols that are sung are, indeed, reflecting and discussing the absolute power and majesty of our King. Yet, I can’t help feeling that there are many singers who perform items at carols all over the world who do not bend the knee to the God they sing about. This is perhaps ironic that God may, indeed, work through the non-believer to touch another.

How do you know what pleases this god thing?  How is this shown?  Does your god perhaps slip $50 in your hat when you howl out a carol?  And, I hate to ask Spinksy, but why does your god actually need you to sing to him?  Really Spinksy, they’re just words put together.  Plenty of human songs are magnificent because of the way music is able to alter our mood.  It’s appreciation of the music and the voices.  Nothing to do with the words really, but the way those words sound when sung well with music behind them.

We have an ever-present and always powerful God.

And yet he is happy because you sing?  Sounds more like a North Korean dictator to me.

The True Meaning of Christmas

[SOURCE]

Let us ask the Lord to help us see through the superficial glitter of this season, and to discover behind it the child in the stable in Bethlehem, so as to find true joy and true light.

So says the Supreme Pontiff (which sounds vaguely like some sort of pizza) as he sat there resplendent with his gold encrusted staff and sparkly vestments with their glittering stuff.  The old man has the gall to sit up on a stage and tell the rest of the world to look through the ‘superficial glitter’. He then goes on to say:

And let us also pray especially at this hour for all who have to celebrate Christmas in poverty, in suffering, as migrants, that a ray of God’s kindness may shine upon them, that they – and we – may be touched by the kindness that God chose to bring into the world through the birth of his Son in a stable. Amen.

He’s praying for the poor people.   He wants us to pray for those ‘who have to celebrate Christmas in poverty’.  The man has enough gold around him to feed the whole of the starving people in Africa and he wants to pray especially for them?  He wants God’s kindness to shine upon them.   He wants that kindness to touch them.  He sits surround by thousands of years of history, with immense wealth and the best he can do to alleviate the poverty in the world is ‘pray especially’.  The poor people would be happy with a bit of rice you arsehole.  They don’t want to be touched by the kindness of god, fuck the baby in the stable.  Give them some food.

At this time of the year, I say to you, as I have said many times, you can either pray or do something useful.

Hitchens Dies

[SOURCE]

There’s plenty out there to read about Christopher Hitchens.  I’ve read some of his stuff and it was good.  So I read it again.  Now he’s dead.

The christians however, can’t help themselves.  Now they’re saying crazy whacky things like:

“My friend Christopher Hitchens has died. I loved & prayed for him constantly & grieve his loss. He knows the Truth now.”

Don’t be stupid – he’s dead.  He no longer exisits.  Is it that hard?

He said Hitchens’ death “is an excruciating reminder of the consequences of unbelief. We can only pray others will believe.”

How would you know?  He’s dead.  We can be certain that there is no consequences to the dead person.

“The point about Christopher Hitchens is not that he died of unbelief,” he concluded, “but that his unbelief is all that matters now. Unspeakably sad.”

He died of cancer, not unbelief.  And nothing matters to him, he’s dead.

How fucked up can you get?  A man dies and all his christian friends line up to say how they tried to save him for their jesus and now all’s lost.

I also love the fact that Twitter lit up with a trending topic #GodIsNotGreat – the title of one of Hitchen’s books.  The christian wankers got their holy noses all out of joint over it.  Some of them where so upset they offered to kill whoever started the hash tag #GodIsNotGreat.  Check this list out of some of the highlights.

Hitchens had an impact on me and my way of thinking.  He’s book was well worth the read.

For that I’m grateful.
